VOLUNTEER
at the #theater11bremen
Maybe not everyone, but many have already thought in their life: “How cool would it be to spend a little time in Europe?” Guys, this is your CHANCE!

The team #theater11bremen invites young, active people to work in the theatre every year. This is a unique opportunity to change your surroundings and turn your life completely upside down.

Theatre does not only consist of the stage and acting in front of the spotlights, applause and interviews. Behind the scenes is the careful work of many people among whom we would like to see new inspired faces, ready for work and creativity.
Address:
Faulenstraße 44-46, 28195 Bremen, Germany
“I worked as a volunteer at #theater11bremen from October 2018 to October 2019. It was a unique opportunity for me to live in Europe and at the same time to pursue my passion - theatre. I am very grateful to the main director Kira Petrov and the entire team for making me feel at home from the very beginning. Now I keep working in this theatre and I think that I am an absolutely happy person because I do my favorite job and I live in one of the most developed countries in the world.

To future volunteers: If you feel like you want to change your life, do it.“

Julia Erusova
volunteer from 2018 to 2019;
Director and media manager at
#theater11bremen
“Voluntary work is a one-time thing.
For anyone looking to find themselves or just for people full of romance, I recommend this adventure.
This is the coolest adventure ever! From December 2019 to October 2020 I proudly carried the title “Volunteer #theater11bremen”. It should be noted that, contrary to the general opinion, a volunteer is not a free labor, but a full-fledged employee who coworkers depend on. In addition to the monthly grant, I had an apartment. They gave me a nice apartment where I lived with other volunteers.
In general, there are many advantages. Starting with the move to Europe without borders, ending with a new experience. And all in front of the background of Bremen's Gothic architecture (which for me personally is very beautiful). I have also made many new acquaintances and started learning German, which is also another advantage.
I could only name one disadvantage - the lockdown due to the pandemic. This virus, of course, ruined plans, it was worse than a "zoom" prom.

It may not be easy for a volunteer - I haven't had time to get tired there. Anyone who wants to dive deeply into the subject will not be bored in the #theater11bremen team."

volunteer from 2019 to 2020
HOW CAN I PARTICIPATE?
What is essential?
Age from 18 to 30 years (no exceptions).

Valid documents / foreign passport for non-EU citizens / and absence of obstacles in accordance with the legal provisions of the receiving and sending country (convictions, financial debts, tax offenses, maintenance debts, etc.).

Free stay in Germany for one calendar year (the program includes 30 vacation days per year).

Mandatory knowledge of English from elementary level (A2). Ideally, basic knowledge of the German language at level A2 and higher or the willingness to deal intensively with the language as part of a program in Germany.
Who can participate?
Young people who are not burdened with family or other obligations in their country. You should be active, determined and should at least roughly understand what theatre is and what work stands behind it. We are not looking for actors, directors or other creative people! We are looking for like-minded people who are willing to work in theatre projects and complete simple tasks - be it cleaning rooms and serving guests/spectators, stage preparation, event preparation or creating documentations for festivals.
We always have an open ear for all creative ideas from volunteers, if they seem promising and interesting to us. This means that if a volunteer has creative potential and wants to prove himself in education, directing or another theatre profession, we meet halfway and give him such an opportunity. But at the same time we need someone who understands that we are not looking for creative input, but an active, down-to-earth person who is always ready at the right time, here and now.
Financial and other conditions:
The voluntary work lasts exactly one calendar year, from September of the current year to September of the following year.

The theatre team helps the volunteer to obtain all important documents.

The volunteer is paid for the transfer twice a year (from home to the theatre and back from the theatre).
The volunteer receives a monthly grant of 350-400 euros (depending on the year).

A room in an apartment (rented apartment for several volunteers) with all the necessary belongings is provided.
Support with continued employment is possible.
The voluntary work begins in summer of the current year and ends in summer of the next calendar year.
